can/do you get them to rebloom for you? never had any luck there either

I have some tulip bulbs that didn't make it into the ground, but which would really like to grow. (I know, they said so.) I think I will toss them in a couple pots and see what happens.

Tabby: I think the secret to reblooming is to let it gain energy through the summer, then make sure it goes dormant for at least six weeks before trying it again.
My bulb had leaves all summer where it sat on the porch photosynthesizing. It died back after the first frost which didn't come until mid October. I wrapped it loosely in a plastic grocery bag and stuck it in the fridge--I'm glad I did, because it got warm again which would have interfered with its dormancy. I took it out in mid December and started watering it again in a sunny windowsill. It sprouted and I was so excited...until I realized that it was only leaves again. Oh well. But after three leaves grew, then came a flower spike!
Maggie: I've got some tulip bulbs that never got planted, too (ha!). Think I'll try them out also...
